The Owners wanted to create a new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) under their home. They envisioned a live/work space that they could age into. The ADU includes

• Comfortable living area accessible to the yard via French doors

• Kitchen with full-size appliances and plenty of work space

• Stacked washer and dryer to save space

• a Bedroom and Bathroom

Trim at the foundation walls helps to integrate them into the space and look like a design element.

Created with a small addition at the rear of the home and excavation of about ½ the home’s footprint, the addition lies partly under a new waterproof deck for the main home above.
