The deck functions as an outdoor living room, where modern lounge furniture and horizontal metal railings extend the interior living experience along the length of the home.
A long, linear deck emphasizes the home’s horizontal geometry, guiding views toward Bay views while reinforcing the rhythm of structure, railing, and cladding.
Outdoor dining and lounge areas are positioned at the edge of the deck, framing panoramic bay and sunset vistas and reinforcing the project’s focus on elevated, indoor–outdoor living.
An intimate dining terrace nestles into the surrounding trees, pairing simple outdoor furnishings with filtered sunlight and a strong connection to the natural landscape.
An elevated deck projects outward from the hillside, framed by slim steel railings and warm wood decking, creating a quiet lookout oriented toward expansive Bay views.

    This L-shaped new Deck wraps around the northwest and southwest sides of the home, expanding living space and access to the outdoors, and affording views of San Francisco Bay.

    • The Deck is supported with knee bracing on both sides of each column.

    • Sleek black horizontal metal guard rails line the Deck for safety while maximizing light and views.

    • The deck surface is a treated bamboo product for sustainability and fire resistance in an area of higher fire danger.

    • The home also received new windows and exterior doors, with locations and finishes carefully considered to unite the home and new deck.
