Modernizing a 1940s Animal Hospital

Alameda, CA

Levitch updated this delapidated 1940’s veterinary hospital building.

  • We opened up the service area, remodeled waiting and treatment areas to make them more usable, and added exam rooms and an ADA Restroom.
  • Levitch replaced windows and reconfigured skylights.
  • We also added an HVAC system, made more challenging due to low ceiling heights for new ductwork.
  • The updates also included increasing fire safety by adding 2-hour fire separation between the vet hospital and the residence above.
