Modernizing a 1940s Animal Hospital Alameda, CA Levitch updated this delapidated 1940’s veterinary hospital building. We opened up the service area, remodeled waiting and treatment areas to make them more usable, and added exam rooms and an ADA Restroom. Levitch replaced windows and reconfigured skylights. We also added an HVAC system, made more challenging due to low ceiling heights for new ductwork. The updates also included increasing fire safety by adding 2-hour fire separation between the vet hospital and the residence above. Photography by Treve Johnson
