Project Details

Location: Berkeley, CA

The Cheese Board Parklet, the first of its kind in Berkeley, presents an innovative solution to a common urban problem.

  • The space provides additional eating and seating space for The Cheese Board customers as well as being open to the public.
  • The project engages with its environment, taking design cues from the urban streetscape and the framework of the city.
  • The owners of the Collective helped to create mosaic flower boxes and planters surrounding the area.
  • Many of the materials were salvaged from local sources, such as Douglas Fir from bleachers removed during the renovation of U.C. Berkeley Memorial Stadium.
