Project Details

Location: Berkeley, CA

The Starr King School for the Ministry on Holy Hill in Berkeley requires modern upgrades to the space it has occupied since the 1940s.

  • We create a new accessible Kitchen with a barrel vault to allow for a higher volume of space, up-lighting and capturing light from an existing skylight in the attic space.
  • Along with the new Kitchen, we completely remodel the offices and classrooms, make seismic improvements, and open up the main assembly space.
  • This project features skylights, uplighting, lighting controls, audio-visual systems, seismic improvements to an octagonal chapel, attaching brick veneer to the structural walls, and retrofitting masonry walls.
