Side Saddle

This project includes an addition of a dormer for a new walk-in closet. The extension of an upper roofline for a horizontal addition over the existing First Floor creates needed space to expand the Bedroom. An Administrative Use Permit was required as a result of adding space over 14′ in height above grade.

• We fill the ceiling cavity with spray foam insulation to allow for a non-vented cathedral ceiling assembly.
• A new custom French door and steel balcony creates an inviting outdoor space.
• We add skylights and replace the front windows in the front Home Office space.
• We also install two gas-fired fireplace inserts in the existing masonry fireboxes in part to allow for the extended roofline, and also for increased energy efficiency and warmth.
