Rockridge Open Kitchen/Dining Oakland, CA Before, a peninsula and the fridge separated the Nook visually from the rest of the Kitchen. Now with a new Nook bench and table and an island instead of the previous wall between the Kitchen and Dining Room, the Kitchen is open to both areas. What had been a window at the Dining Room became doors opening to the existing deck and outdoor area. We changed access to the Laundry room, now opening to a different side of the Kitchen. Levitch fabricated and installed a custom sliding barn door that replaced swinging doors between the Dining Room and Foyer. We created a temporary Kitchen and Laundry area at the Living Room for the Owners to use during construction. Photography by Treve Johnson
