Jeff Levitch
Jeff graduated from San Francisco State University in 1992 with a BA in art and earned his Masters of Fine Art in painting and drawing from the University of Arizona at Tucson in 1998.
He has taught painting and drawing at several institutions, including Foothill College in Los Altos and the University of California at Berkeley. He also offers private instruction. Jeff believes in art as both a meditation for himself and a visual message to the observer. He is very interested in light as the source of form and structure and uses the natural world's imagery as a springboard to transition his work into a world more inhabited by emotion and color.
Jeff works in his studio every day after completing his work at the design/build firm Levitch Associates, Inc., where he is a Project Manager. He also accepts commissions for portraiture.
The following is a partial list of venues in which his work has been displayed: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art - Artist's Gallery, Hang Art Gallery in San Francisco, The Luggage Store Gallery, Berkeley Art Center and Giorgi Gallery in Berkeley. Jeff is currently immersed in studio research and will soon be ready with a new body of work to show the world.
