Location: Berkeley, CA

Our client and her family of five needed to make upgrades to her childhood home. Our founder, Ed Levitch had previously remodeled this family’s home in the 1960s.

  • The home was stabilized and lifted to eliminate a 2″ drop near the original Kitchen.
  • Levitch replaces the lower floor foundation and slab on grade, allowing for a new Family Room as well as a Kitchen and Bathroom for the legalized Second Unit.
  • We replace the interior staircase and open it up to the Living Room with new light tubes to help distribute natural light.
  • We replace the deck and added a new spiral stair in a new location leading to the backyard.
  • The Kitchen is reconfigured and remodeled by adding a new Dutch door as a ‘back Kitchen door’ to the front entry deck. This detail was a particular favorite for the client due to her Dutch heritage.
